  • The current world champion racing driver, Graham Hill, stands beside his Lotus Ford at Pukekohe; note the wide fins at the front of the car. Hill is always a potential winner.
  • The Lady Wigram Trophy race is likely to bring a repeat of the Lotus-Ferrari battle, typified by Chris Amon in hot pursuit of Jochen Rindt's Lotus early in the Pukekohe race, before Rindt spun.
  • The thunder of the Mustangs always brings the crowd to its feet, and I. W. Dawson, in this Mustang, is particularly noted for his fast and spectacular driving.

THE LADY WIGRAM TROPHY RACE IS LIKELY to bring a repeat of the Lotus-Ferrari battle, typified by this scene at Pukekohe where Chris Amon (left) is in hot pursuit of Jochen Rindt's Lotus early in the race, before Rindt spun. Note the difference betweenthe rear-mounted aerofoils on the two cars. The Ferrari has a low-mounted fixed "wing," and the Lotus aerofoil is mounted higher, in less turbulent air, and is movable. THE THUNDER OF THE MUSTANGS always brings the crowd to its feet, and I. W. Dawson, in this Mustang, is particularly noted for his fast and spectacular driving.
