Decision for Molloy; both motor-cycle titles to Perry

Auckland's 21-year-old Geoff Perry (500 Suzuki) won both the New Zealand open and 500cc airfield championships at Wigram over 10 laps, with Keith Turner second 9.3sec back and Jim Landrebe third after passing Dale Wylie. Ginger Molloy's left leg injury from a first-race collision with Perry proved more serious than first thought: a cracked bone, putting his Teretonga ride in doubt. Perry led the NZ 500cc road series by eight points.
