race reportMolloy shows great style in Wigram races
Ginger Molloy of Huntly, a little-known motor-cycling international home for a holiday, gave Wigram crowds two good races: starting slowly on the 249cc Bultaco in the 250/350 championship, he chased Landreth's 500cc Matchless and was blown off on the last lap; in the Gold Leaf Open on a 500cc Norton he passed Landreth ten yards from the line to win in one of the great races of road-racing history. Anderson was 19 seconds behind and Scobie another 27 seconds back.

Home for a busman's holiday, Malloy, riding an incandescent Spanish Bultaco and
a 500 c.c. Norton, turned the
races into a string of fireworks as he exhibited his multitude of skilis.
In the first event, for the
New Zealand 250, and 350 airheld championships, Malloy got
off the line with something
very far removed from celerity
as the Bultaco dawdled over

Malloy appeared, quite
suddenly, on Landrebe's
rear wheel and the Otago

finest race of his career to
keep ahead of the Huntly
international.
With spectators watching
Neville Landrebe, from Otago, thunder past the world
champion, Hugh Anderson,
in a wonderful ride from
the Dunedin man, Malloy
was up and racing.
By the final four laps Malloy

Malloy weighed the poor

Magnificent Win
Right down on the tank,
Mailoy swung out, hurled the
Norton at the chequered flag

Hugh Anderson, still moving

Brian Scobie, did not cross the
