My ultimate aim is to be a pro racing driver and obviously my goal is sometrung like Formula Une.' His injury meant Neale did only two Formula Ford races last year, but he is making up tor iost time. He believes the fast Wigram airfield track will make the races in his class particularly entertaining. "We have what we call the draft _ you can get a slipstream so the lead can change two or three times in a lap, and there is quite an art in being in the right place at the right time. Often you don't want to be leading in the last lap, because two or three can go past you." Neale showed his ability to recover a seemingly lost cause at Teretonga, when he spun ott the track at high speed on the third lap and dropped to I2th, but recovered to be third at the finish. An instructor at the Canterbury Motor Racing School, Neale has done all his racing in single-seaters. n Austrian driver, Christian Wolff, is his team-mate in the Caltex-ICI Autocolor team for the FF races. 41 Andrew Neale... ready to give Wigram his best shot.
