This will give spectators a good view of the cars braking heavily on the straight from 255 km/b to 50 km/h and will also provide a good view of the pits, where there is often frantic work going on during races. for those not wanting to shell out $12 for the grandstand - in which there are only 240 seats available anyway - the infield seems the best bet for a good look at the attion. i An infield pass costs another $3 over and above the $5 admission charges but should be sell worth it. All infield spectators will cross the track in s different place this уват - the entrance will be off Wigram Road and the crossing will be about a third of the way down the main straight. This year the start-finish line has been shifted to just past the pits so that all the officials can De kept close together. This could see some desperate dicing at the hairpin on the final laps of any particularly close races on Sunday. Dave McMillan holds tue Wigram lap record He set the record of 1 min 10.7s when he won the first heat of last year's Lady Wigran Trophy. Mcivillan had a stiff tailwind down the main straight that day unless this is repeated on Sunday his record might be safe for some time. The gears that Melfillan uses on the Wigram circuit and the speeds reaches at various piaces can be seen in the dia- •gram above. "It's a lot trickier than it looks. There are a few secrets to driving Wigram but Id be a mug to give them away, " he said with a grin.
