Facts

  • At the 1972 Lady Wigram meeting city-bound cars exited via two eastern exits onto Middle Lincoln Road, south-bound traffic via the station main entrance, and the racing circuit could not be used by departing cars.

Hobbs, hurtles his McLaren M22 car over the bump at the entrance to the Wigram circuit's new hairpin bend yesterday. Hobbs recorded a second-fastest lap average at a speed of 115.65 miles an hour.
