Who will miss out in Wigram race?

Twenty-five drivers entered the 1962 Lady Wigram Trophy but the circuit allows a maximum of 24, so at least one would miss out depending on Friday's time trials. A committee under club president J. Brewer may eliminate cars so slow as to be a hazard, and the day's programme and numbered entry list are given.

Facts

  • The maximum field that could start on the 2.116-mile Wigram circuit was 24 cars; the January 1962 Lady Wigram Trophy attracted 25 entrants.
  • Entrants eliminated after the Friday time trials were to be offered a start in the first event, the 32-mile Motor Racing Club Championship.
  • The 1962 Wigram meeting had record entries for all events: the Lady Wigram Trophy plus four other car races and two motor-cycle races.
