Brabham wins Lady Wigram Trophy

Reigning world champion Jack Brabham led from the first lap to win his second successive Lady Wigram Trophy, the race shortened from 150 to 100 miles because of the atrocious wet weather. He finished 52 seconds ahead of Stirling Moss, whose Rob Walker Lotus was damaged in a start-line shunt, with Hastings entrant Angus Hyslop third in a Cooper Climax. Bonnier, Clark and Surtees all challenged before sliding off or retiring, and McLaren recovered from a slide to finish fourth.
