Economics threaten future of Wigram races
Speculation is rife that the 45th annual Lady Wigram Trophy race on the coming Sunday will be the last at the air base. Rising costs make it harder for the Motor Racing Club to keep the event viable. The meeting opens the three-round Peter Jackson International single-seater series, with Australian Formula Brabhams joining Formula Atlantics. Twenty-two races are scheduled for Sunday and three during Saturday practice, with racing at 9.15am.
