A class of its own
Feature on the Christchurch-based Open Saloon Car Association (OSCA), now in its 14th season with Arbuckles sponsorship. The class of noisy V8 saloons was born in 1971 because the national saloon class moved away from heavily modified cars, and the prize fund rose by $10,000 to $35,000 for 1984/85, with the Wigram round the fifth of ten. It also profiles competitors in the smaller-capacity classes.
