Loads of talent in saloon car fields

Four saloon car races on the 1976 Wigram programme feature the best saloon drivers: Australian Allan Moffatt (Chevrolet Monza), Jim Richards (Sidchrome Mustang), Leo Leonard (PDL Mustang), Red Dawson (Monza), Grant Walker (Cologne Capri), Reg Cook's works Datsun 100A Cherry and others. Richards ran away from Leonard on a rain-soaked Manfeild.

  • Having already won the national single-seater Gold Star championship and the New Zealand Grand Prix in this Lola T332, diminutive Aucklander Ken Smith will start one of the favourites in the Lady Wigram Trophy.
