Wigram could be most vital race
After Richard Attwood's surprise win in the Levin Gold Leaf International in the No. 2 BRM, the 100-mile Lady Wigram Trophy became the most vital race of the NZ section of the 1966 Tasman series: Graham Hill and Attwood shared the lead on 9 points, with Clark, Stewart and Palmer on 6. Frank Gardner, who set a new Levin lap record of 47.8 seconds, had been leading when a half-shaft broke three laps from the finish. Palmer's car had arrived in Christchurch ahead of the drivers.
