STEADY RACE BY WIGRAM LEADERS A lesson in consistency was given at Wigram on Saturday when the Wigram Trophy race of 150 miles was dominated by two bright- : red racing cars which lapped steadily under the guidance of two England's top drivers, Peter Whitehead and Tony Gaze. Both drivers gave flawiess exhibiand, except when Gaze took the lead on the third, sixth and seventh laps, they continued to the finish in close order, with White head in front. The rest of the field of twelve finishers was strung out well behind. The third and fourth men to finish, Leslie Marr in the Connaught and Reg Parnell in his Aston Martin, retained those positions throughout the seventy-one laps. thousands the spectators driving of the overseas stars was a sight worth seeing. but their interest centred the sruggles that took place for the minor placings.
