Although there were two 180-degree turns forcing competitors sow down almost to a stoo, and the naitmile straights hardly otered room to reach top speed, Green, and others, sometimes averaged about 60 miles an hour Shuter led the lap from Green at the start, but the positions were reversed aiter the first lap, and, after six laps, Green was followed by Shuter and McLean. Before 10 laps nad been completed, three of the 12 competitors had retired. Shuter, making a determined effort, took the lead in the eleventh lap, but lost it again one lap later, and from that stage he did not press Green. His car appeared to have developed a fault, and he retired near the end with transmission trouble. After Green had completed half the course, Mclean made an effort to catch him, and was only about a second behind developed trouble in his gearbox and was forced to retire. Green went on an untroubled win, followed home by J. Tutton (XK120 Juguar). who had driven steadily from start to finish. At that stage there were only two other competitors, and they were flagged off in third and fourth places. There was some spiendid racing in a handicao event after the main race. The race was won quite easily by W. K. Macdonald (XK120 Juguar), but the next three competitors finished almost in line.
